JD Tom, named the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2016, directs all aspects of in-season and offseason training for all ten Mercy College Varsity sports teams.
Tom previously served as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with Rutgers University in 2015, primarily working with the Scarlet Knight Football Team. During his time at Rutgers, Tom helped the Scarlet Knight Football program compete in their second season in the Big Ten Conference and contributed in developing six players who were either drafted or signed as free agents during the 2016 NFL draft.
Tom's professional career began as an Intern Strength & Conditioning Coach at his alma mater, Seton Hall University. From there, he climbed up the coaching ranks through positions with the New York Giants in 2013, and the Princeton University Football Team in 2014.
Tom earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Seton Hall University in 2012 and led an extensive athletic career, playing Ice Hockey and Baseball. He is a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association, American Football Coaches Association, and USA Weightlifting Association.
A native of DeLand, FL. & South Brunswick, N.J., Tom currently resides in Hastings on the Hudson, NY.
