Danny Leon Jr. enters his second season as an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program.
“Danny brings a wealth of knowledge to our coaching staff and is very good at making our players better both technically and tactically. He has a bright future as a coach,” commented head coach Jonathan Feinstein.
In 2015, Leon helped the Mavericks to a third consecutive ECC Tournament and a third consecutive postseason berth. Leon’s main responsibilities on the field include working with the Mavericks midfield. In 2015, he helped mentor one All-Region selection and two All-Conference selections.
A former standout player for the Mercy men’s team, Leon captained the Mavericks in the 2014 season and was a standout midfielder for his tenure as a Maverick. Leon grew up playing for Albertson Fury Academy where he played on the USSF Developmental Youth U-16 and U-18 teams that competed in prestigious USSF Academy League.
