Athletic Director Matt Kilcullen Jr. has announced the hiring of Mercy College alum Kyle Goodhart as the new Sports Information Director effective October 20th.

“We welcome Kyle back to the Mercy College family!” said Kilcullen. “He is a rising star in the sports information world and we are fortunate to have him here in our Athletic Department.”

Goodhart arrives in Dobbs Ferry from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, New York where he served as the Sports Information Intern for two years under Sports Information Director Anthony Macapugay.

At St. Joseph’s, Goodhart helped with the day-to-day operations of the Sports Information Department, writing game recaps and press releases, utilizing the Stat Crew software to keep track of NCAA Division III statistics, producing game programs and game notes, acting as public address announcer for multiple sports and helping maintain the Bears athletic website and social media accounts.

Goodhart is familiar with the surroundings of the Mercy College campus, acting as the Sports Information Intern under previous Mavericks Sports Information Directors Jack Zolla and Mark Becker during the 2012 school year.

During his time at Mercy, Goodhart gained experience as a public address announcer for baseball, softball and lacrosse, helped with updating the school’s record books and was spotter for lacrosse.

The native of Pleasant Valley, New York also brings experience from the conference perspective, having served as the Sports Information Director for the Association of Division III Independents over the last year. In his role with the seven-member conference, Goodhart writes the Player of the Week and Student-Athlete of the Month releases while maintaining the Association’s website,

“I am excited to return to my alma mater where my career started and I look forward to working with the Mercy College family to promote the athletic department’s brand and give the student-athletes the best experience possible, “ commented Goodhart. “ I want to thank Athletic Director Matt Kilcullen Jr., Senior Associate Athletic Director Bill Sullivan, and Chief Student Affairs Officer Dr. William Martinov for the opportunity to return to Mercy College during this exciting time for the program.”

Goodhart graduated from Mercy in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. He went on to earn a Master of Professional Studies degree in Sports Management from St. John’s University in 2014. He resides in Putnam Valley, New York.
